I would like to let you know what a wonderful experience it was to have King’s complete the move for my mom this past Wednesday. Velma and her crew took my mom’s furniture from a Setter St. apartment to her new suite .
Velma was very professional and knowledgeable to work with, she helped make a stressful experience easier to handle. Everyone I spoke with at King’s regarding this move provided amazing service. I really appreciated how the whole thing was handled, especially since you were able to accommodate me on such short notice.

If you are moving, hire the mover that just moved a mover. We like moving stuff.
I want to thank you again for your wonderful, warm, professional service with arranging my move this year. You are so nice.
I was so impressed with Loreen’s professionalism & promptness in dealing with my concerns. (This is so unlike many other businesses one deals with these days.)
I have sent Loreen a separate note of thanks, but I want you to know, Jill, when I spoke with Loreen I told her that you were a fantastic ambassador for the company and in my note to Loreen, I said: “I want to reiterate what I said to you (I,e. to Loreen) during our conversation: Jill is a fantastic ambassador for your company: totally professional, warm, dependable and efficient.”
I hope I don’t ever have to move again (!!) but if I do – I hope you and King’s Transfer will still be doing business together because you’ll be the first one – the ONLY one, I’ll call, Jill.
Many, many thanks again for being you.
I just wanted to take a minute to send you an update on my move yesterday. Richard and he team showed up around 3:30. My mother and brother were at the original destination. Both were impressed by Richard and his team. They then made the move into her new place. Richard also made sure the extra drop off happened.
When they arrived at my place I was very impressed with all three movers. They were the friendliest guys. Very efficient, careful and very fast. I could tell they were all extremely knowledgable.
I would also like the mention Jill. I arranged the move through her. She was great to deal with, I was even impressed by the gentleman at your office who I picked up the boxes from, I am sorry I did not catch his name.
I think you have a GREAT TEAM of people working for you and I am proud that our company, Royal LePage Dynamic Real Estate is affiliated with you. I will definitely use your services again and recommend your services to the other realtors in my office.
Thank you so much,
I apologize, it’s been a few days since the unload, but of course I’ve been very busy with unpacking!
I have to say, we have been thoroughly satisfied with your company and it’s employees. We happy with your affiliates. The crew that came on July 4th in Winnipeg were very professional and considerate! Kudos to all 3 of them!! They did a great job and were very accommodating to our needs.
The same can be said about the crew here in Calgary. No one would let me move a single box!! They wanted me to tell them if I changed my mind about an item and had no problem moving things twice!
I hope that the good words get back to the right people about a job well done!
I hope I don’t move again soon…but if I did, I would want to work with someone like you again!
If you have a TV, odds are you’ve seen a newscast featuring a furniture moving horror story. They happen and they are an unfortunate black eye on an industry that is largely high in quality. In light of this, customers often ask us about these reports and how to avoid these scenarios, so we thought we’d publish a reference sheet on how to choose a mover:
Ask family & friends for recommendations – word of mouth of is always a great way to find a business.
Ask your moving consultant to perform a survey – an accurate weight estimate creates a more accurate pricing.
If you get multiple estimates be suspicious of a price well below the others.
If you receive estimates with grossly diffent weights, keep in mind that the you will most likely be charged based on actual weight of your belongings. A lower estimated weight does not necessarily mean lower cost on move day. Accuracy is key.
If you have concerns visit the mover’s place of business to see their equipment, personnel and warehouse.
Most national Van Line affiliated movers do not ask for deposits. Be suspicious of a company who wants a large deposit.
Ask how damage claims will be handled and find out who you would call to have this taken care of.
Ask that the mover to provide a committed pickup and delivery schedule.
Ask for the name and telephone number of the agent nearest your destination, so you have contact at both ends.
Ask for a confirmation letter detailing all of your specific moving arrangements and a copy of the price quotation.
If you do your homework ahead of time it will help you make sure your move goes off without a hitch. Choosing King’s Transfer Winnipeg as your long distance mover will help as well. ;)
I’ll assume you received my phone message. You have a great group working for you! The three packers that came out (Iris, Glen, and Les) were great. Very friendly and extremely efficient. It was a pleasure to have them in my home and I’m confident that our possessions were packed very well.
As for the moving crew (Parminder, Art, Steve, Les, James, Adam & Matt) they all did a great job as well. They all worked hard and efficiently. I especially think that it was great to have Les on both the packing and loading crew. He knew the house and knew where to find boxes that he needed to fit a space on the truck. Please pass on special kudos to Les as he was extra personable and offered a lot of great moving tips to me.
Now I just need you to work your magic and get that load on the highway to Alberta!!
Thanks again for the great service!
Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope may have been forced to stop short of Winnipeg, but the impact of his journey did not. Terry Fox inspired thousands of Manitobans and millions of people around the world. Manitoban Terry Fox Runs now take place all over the province – from Winnipeg, to Dauphin, to Thompson, to Swan Lake and beyond. Beyond Manitoba, there are annual runs all over the country and they have started to span the world. There was a Terry Fox run in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates this year. That kind of reach is incredible.
Terry Fox and his efforts have been the driving force behind countless fundraising initiatives. The Terry Fox Foundation alone has raised over $650 million for cancer research worldwide. Terry has also been the subject of thousands of hours of history classes for Canadian youth. Terry Fox inspired people from all over the world and now he has a day named after him. Well earned! Terry Fox is a Hero and one who deserves to be honored.
We are honored to share the highways on which you once ran.
Happy Terry Fox Day Manitoba!

FRINGE SMASHES ATTENDANCE RECORDS
Outstanding artistic content continues to contribute to growth of festival
Theatregoers couldn’t stop watching, as the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival continued its longstanding attendance–‐breaking streak for another year!
Indoor attendance for the 2014 festival totaled approximately 104,859, up from 101,488 last year. Daily attendance records were broken on 6 out of 12 days, with 195 sellouts and $761,522 in box office revenue, 100 per cent of which was returned to the performing companies. The 12–‐days festival featured the largest number of offerings in the history of the Fringe, with 175 companies performing in 30 venues across the Exchange District and downtown Winnipeg.
“It’s tremendously exciting for us to experience another record–‐breaking year at the Fringe. The caliber of the performers and their productions were exceptional, and it’s their artistic talent that continues to help in growing the festival year after year,” said Chuck McEwen, Executive Producer for the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. “We received so many positive comments from Fringers about the amazing shows they saw.”
Warm temperatures and mainly sunny skies kept Old Market Square busy, with featured bands, street performers and Kids Fringe entertaining good–‐sized crowds and attracting approximately 95,000 people to the Exchange District area.
Yesterday evening on the Outdoor Stage, the Manitoba Association of Playwrights (MAP) presented the Harry S. Rintoul Memorial Award for best new Manitoban play to Bill Pats for his work, Executing Justice. The award is presented annually at the Fringe Festival in memory of playwright Harry Rintoul. The other nominees this year included Megan Andres, Kim Zieglinski, Jacquie Loewen, Audra Lesosky and Kevin Gabel.
Next year’s Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival will run from July 15 to July 26, 2015. For more details, please visit www.winnipegfringe.com.
